Today we are going to define very precisely What Is a Pronoun?  Rules of Pronouns and Its Classes.

What is Pronoun:-

A pronoun used instead of Noun.

Classes of Pronoun:-

There are five classes of Pronoun which would be discussed below as follow

  1. Personal Pronoun

  1. Reflexive Pronouns ( Emphasis )

 Reflexive pronouns define as these are words which end in -self or -selves such as myself, yourself and themselves.

Examples of Reflexive Pronouns

  • Waqas mixed himself a drink.
  • I enjoyed myself a lot.
  • Go get yourself a cup of coffee.

 

  1. Relative Pronouns

A Relative Pronouns refers to some noun going before it. A relative pronoun is a kind of pronoun which you can use to join two clauses to form a longer type of sentence. Relative pronouns are called those words that are following under as

  • That
  • Which
  • Who
  • Whom
  • When
  • Whose
  • Whatever
  • Whichever
  • Whoever
  • Whomever
  • Whichsoever
  • Whosoever
  • Whomsoever
  • Whosesoever
  • Whatsoever

 

Some examples of Relative Pronouns

  • Who: He writes a letter to Roy who lives in America.
  • Whom: The man whom I know was tall.

 

  1. Indefinite and Distributive pronoun

distributive pronoun are kinds of nouns which considers members of a group that separately, rather than collectively. Distributive pronouns are included

We define Indefinite pronoun as they do not refer to any specific person, thing or amount as such following examples (Some, many, any, all, other and one)

Distributive pronoun are referring to each individual of a class as such following examples (Each, every, either and neither)

 

  1. Demonstrative (indicatory) pronouns

This class of Pronouns as named before as Demonstrative which point to specific things as under

this, that, these, and those.
